Petra, Scott, Justin and Doug go hiking.

Justin, Petra, Doug, and Scott hiked up above Silver Dollar Lake near Bierstadt peak. Then we made our own trail up above the lake Murray to the top of the ridge and very near Argentine and Flat Top peaks.. There was a very nice meadow on top of the mountain with a lot of marsh, as there was no obvious declivity for a stream to follow. It was an amazingly pleasant meadow and very relaxing Except for the thin, cold air, the amazing views, and the beating our legs were complaining about, it seemed entirely too flat and bucolic to be ~13,000 feet in elevation!

Leah & Shuk Mei- in SD 7/2008

My friend Shuk Mei visited from Phoenix for a few days. We went to The Japanese Friendship Gardens (the gate), Birch Aquarium(I touched a sea slug, that felt like jello), Little Italy (we had the best pizza), Biking around Mission Bay(it totally wore us out), and of course the beach! It was nice and cool weather that Shuk Mei really enjoyed. Seriously does anybody like the temps in Phoenix???

Leah's Yosemite Trip

Yosemite was so much fun. The first day we climbed over huge slippery boulders to Bridalveil Falls, then biking around the valley. The second day we rafted down the river and I lost my sunglasses, but then later on I found a $10 bill in the river so it worked out even! The third day we hiked up to Vernal Falls, it was amazing, we got soaked from the mist and made it to the top. It wasn't the easiest 3 mile hike for a 5 and 9 yr old, but Lucas & Chloe did well.
We got to roast s'mores and saw a bear and some deer. We went on a lot of bike rides and swimming because it was HOT!! Luckily there weren't any mosquitos. We had this concrete and canvas cabin/tent and a bear locker to store anything with a scent( food, lotion, etc.)
I took way more pictures, but didn't want to put them all up. :)
From Scott,

Two nuns, Sister Catherine and Sister Helen,
are traveling through Europe in their car.
They get to Transylvania and are stopped at a traffic light.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a tiny little Dracula
jumps onto the hood of the car and hisses at them through the windshield.

'Quick, quick!' shouts Sister Catherine. 'What shall we do?'

'Turn the windshield wipers on.
That will get rid of the abomination,' says Sister Helen.

Sister Catherine switches them on, knocking Dracula about,
but he clings on and continues hissing at the nuns.

'What shall I do now?' she shouts.

'Switch on the windshield washer.
I filled it up with Holy Water at the Vatican ,' says Sister Helen.

Sister Catherine turns on the windshield washer.
Dracula screams as the water burns his skin,
but he clings on and continues hissing at the nuns.

'Now what?' shouts Sister Catherine.

'Show him your cross,' says Sister Helen.

'Now you're talking,' says Sister Catherine.

She opens the window and shouts,
'Get the fuck off the car!'
